This existing Arts and Crafts home is embedded in historic Riverside IL, originally planned by Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of American landscape architecture. The enclosed front porch had deteriorated and become programmatically unclear, acting both as storage and vestibule for the main entry point of the home. Our renovation rebuilds the porch as an open deck with a larger stair, making the front door more visible and accessible to the street. The home’s exterior is also rehabilitated with a new, brighter color scheme.
